bonnie burke weddings austin

A friend recently described me using the words uplifting + supportive, and it made me feel some kind of way! I gave her a hug and awkwardly accepted the compliment. Uplifting and supporting my friends and family is a top value for me, and it’s how I approach my incredible clients, too.

I’m also a big fan of listening and bringing a lighthearted spirit to most things in life. On your wedding day, I don’t bring BPE (big photographer energy) because I don’t want people to feel like they’re being watched or needing to perform. I want to blend in, make you + your guests feel comfortable, and photograph people living their best lives at your wedding.

When you let go and fully experience your wedding, you’ll get unscripted, high-feeling moments — and that’s when the magic happens. After all, your wedding day isn’t a photoshoot! Your wedding is a living, breathing collection of perfectly imperfect moments and the wild alchemy of all your people together for the first and possibly only time in history. Think about that!! It’s really special and sometimes I can’t believe I get to be there for it.

The photos I make are for you, Future You, and generations down the line. So let’s record it with heart and soul and fearless abandon and beauty. Send me a message — let’s do this!

  • Yes! I shoot with 35mm film primarily, and if the light is right, I will also shoot with 120mm film on a medium format camera. Film is so lovely and nostalgic, and I think it adds to the magic of your photo collection.

  • I hope to feel like an encouraging and uplifting friend to you on your wedding day. Feeling relaxed, confident, and supported is so important! Most of my clients tend to be a bit camera shy, and I think I'm pretty good at helping people feel like they can be themselves, even with a camera in hand.

  • I shoot with professional Sony full-frame mirrorless cameras and a medium format Fujifilm digital camera. Most of my work is created with digital cameras, but I also shoot film. Let me know if you’re interested in blending digital with film.

  • I travel for weddings and there is a travel fee based on the expense and distance to travel. This is determined on a case-by-case basis.

  • Your full collection will be ready within six weeks of your wedding date. Each image is individually edited with great care, which can’t be rushed!

  • Yes! I make wedding albums, tailored specifically for each unique client. You can buy prints directly from your wedding gallery.

  • I work on my own and with talented second photographers. I’m happy to have a conversation with you to determine what suits your wedding best. For elopements & small weddings in Austin and NYC, I generally work on my own.

  • Yes. If your venue requires a certificate of insurance, please let me know so that I can send it along. I have backup gear in triplicate!

  • Yes! I’m happy to. I frequently help my couples with their wedding day timeline so that photography syncs with the flow of your celebration.

  • YES. It’s so important to me that your photos are backed up multiple times in different locations. While your photos are being edited, there are four copies of the full wedding, and one of the copies stays in a storage unit a few miles from my home.
